Done properly, not quickly
Interior painting takes more than a colour and a roller. Every surface has to be cleaned and prepped, holes and cracks filled, trim and fixtures carefully masked, and primer applied where it is needed. Then the paint goes on evenly, from ceilings and corners through to walls, trim and baseboards, usually across several coats.
Using the right kind of paint for each surface matters too, especially in kitchens and bathrooms where there is traffic and moisture.

Interior paint protects against everyday wear and moisture. When it cracks, peels, bubbles or fades, that barrier has broken down. Even without visible damage, paint dulls and caulk dries out over time.
